The drug "Ultrakain." Instructions for use
The drug "Ultrakain" refers tolocal anesthetics. The active substance is articaine hydrochloride. The drug blocks sodium channels in the neuron membrane, which causes a decrease in impulses along nerve fibers. This is the cause of the local anesthetic effect of "Ultrakain." As a result of the activity of the drug, a reversible loss of sensitivity arises, by reducing or eliminating the conductivity of sensory pulses at the injection site or directly at the site of injection. Due to the ability to reduce permeability in the membranes of nerve cells, the drug has a membrane-stabilizing effect. The active substance passes the placental barrier, practically not found in milk.
The drug "Ultrakain." Instructions. Indications
The medicine is used with the conductor andinfiltration anesthesia during operations in dentistry. In particular, the medication is effective with simple removals of several or one tooth, the treatment of carious cavities, grinding teeth before prosthetics.
The "Ultrakain" remedy. Instructions for use
Dosage for adults is 4-6 mg / kg. The administration is not more than 400 mg. For the implementation of infiltration anesthesia, as a rule, 1.7 ml (in the absence of inflammation) are injected into two adjacent or one tooth. To freeze the alveolar nerve, approximately 1-1.7 ml is required. Before the injection, an aspiration test should be performed to avoid intravascular (unintentional) administration of the drug.
The drug "Ultrakain." Instructions. Adverse Reactions
The undesirable side effects of the CNS are usuallydose-dependent. In patients there is a stupor, in some cases leading to loss of consciousness, respiratory distress, provoking its stop, there was jerking of muscles, tremor. It causes paresthesia, dizziness, transient visual impairment (double vision, blindness, turbidity before the eyes). Sometimes there is damage to the nerve, provoked by a violation of the technique of drug administration. In these cases, the development of paralysis of the facial nerve is likely. Medication can cause a breakdown in the function of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, allergic reactions. When injecting, the development of skin hyperemia, angioedema, rhinitis is likely. The medicine can cause difficulty in swallowing, shock, heart failure, lowering of pressure, bradycardia. At the site of the injection, swelling of the tissue or inflammation on the mucosa is possible.
The "Ultrakain" remedy. Instructions. Contraindications
The medicine is not used for hypoxia, in children'sage (up to four years), with anemia. The drug "Ultrakain" is not prescribed for methemoglobinemia, severe arterial hypotension. Contraindications include heart failure of decompensated type in acute flow, hypersensitivity to components. The drug is not recommended for disorders in conduction and sinus node functions. In particular, contraindications include a pronounced bradycardia, an atrioventricular blockade. The drug "Ultrakain" (reviews of specialists confirm this) should be used with caution in case of cholinesterase insufficiency. In this case, the medicine is used only when absolutely necessary, due to the likelihood of too strong and prolonged its activity.
