Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the so-called “Spring Package”, which includes a number of anti-terrorism laws.
Public figures, human rights activists, representatives of providers and mobile operators opposed the introduction of these amendments and laws. The fact is that the “Spring package” implies that telecom operators will have to store all messages and data exchanged between users. This will require the creation of powerful data centers, which will result in huge costs for operators. On the background of the news about the signing of Putin’s “package of Spring” shares of mobile operators and Rostelecom, they noticeably fell in price on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
It should also be added that the American defector who was granted asylum in the Russian Federation called the signing of Putin’s “Spring Package” a black day for Russia.
